We are planning a 3 month roadtrip with our 82 Westy around the US & Canada. As we are just starting to put our itinerary together, I would love to hear from fellow campervanners your favorite spots. So far, I would have to say Black Rock City is our favorite.
Take care, Katie

  • In Oregon around cougar resevior there are some great forest service roads for primitive camping...can't say for sure it's legal though. Northern CA, beach camping is a nice way to socialize. All over the Western US there is public land with primitive camping...they all have their unique treasures.
  • in Washington the Olympic Hotsprings on 101 are absolutely beautiful..in BC (or maybe its the Yukon, I can't remember) the Laird Hotsprings are nice. both are hike-in ones, the Olympics are natural pools and the Laird are a bit more developed. In Alaska, well, you probably won't get up there, but Valdez has great camping and is beautiful for fishing and hiking (its my hometown)
